Joe,I just watched the Bob Seger video and I kept tiknihng that the roads and scenery looked like Michigan landscape. And then further into the video I find out that it is, right? (I-94, I-69) I enjoyed this video a lot. Hearing Bob Seger brought back a flood of memories. My brother was a huge fan of Bob Seger, Doobie Brothers, Credence Clearwater, Beatles, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, and the list goes on. When I was a little girl, I would sit on his bed while he played his guitar and sing to the records of these great Rock n Rollers. My brother was very entertaining. I also grew up listening to my mother\'s favorite singers: Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdink, Wayne Newton, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn and the list goes on. When my father wasn\'t home, my mom would play her records on the stereo in our living room. I would sit on the living room floor, coloring in a book, and listen to the music with her. I still remember every word to those songs. I didn\'t know what any of them meant at the time, but I knew I liked the music and would sing along. My big sister had her favorite collection of music that I was exposed to as well. When I got older, I started collecting my favorites: Elton John, The Carpenters, Tony Orlando, (did I just admit that?). I grew up listening to a huge variety of music and I love it all. For my mom and us kids (there were four children, I\'m a twin), music was an escape and something we enjoyed together. I can thank my mom for that. (Enjoyed watching the Tom Jones and Tina Turner videos.)Family vacations .well, I vaguely remember them. My dad was always in control. I remember a blue tent that accomodated the six of us and it was set up in the middle of no man\'s land in Michigan\'s Upper Pennisula. There were a lot of trees and nasty black flies that would bite my head. (If anyone has been to the U.P., you know that the black flies there are huge.) Anyway, we basically sat on tree stumps, bored out of our wits. The trip there and back felt like torture. No music and no talk. We were four very well behaved kids crammed in the back seat of the car. The feelings of those times is what has stuck with me more than the visual memories. Thank god for Faygo pop. The highlight of our trips.Years later, my Mom and us kids (we were young adults) took family vacations to Mackinac Island on holiday weekends. We were like wild horses running free. We would rent bicycles for the day and ride all over the island. We rode those bikes like we were wild horses. We would fly down some pretty steep hills at top speed yelling wild horses approaching! to warn other tourists of our fast descents. It\'s a wonder we didn\'t kill ourselves or them. Those were great times and great memories. I\'ve actually written a short story titled Unknown Road where the main character is a freelance travel writer. (Genre: of course, thriller/suspense) She travels to Michigan\'s Upper Pennisula to investigate an unsolved murder that took place during the copper mining era. She stumbles upon an unknown road that isn\'t on the map and inadvertently takes a detour from her original destination this is where the Jaw\'s theme would play. What would Bob Hope and Bing Crosby say about it? Bob Hope would say thanks for the memories and get me the hell out of this ghost town. Bing Crosby would say I\'m dreaming of get me the hell out of this ghost town. Your family vacations sound like great times. Thanks for sharing. I\'ve always wanted to go to Montana. I hope to one day.Nice chatting with everyone.
